Mostar is a city in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The city is located in the province of Herzegovina and is the capital of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and is the largest and most important city of the Herzegovina region. Founded in the 13th century, Mostar flourished in the Ottoman Empire for the next four centuries. Its strategic location made Mostar a hub of merchants traveling from the Adriatic Sea to the interior of the Balkans, and vice versa. Mostar owes its name to that time, when guards ("Mostari") watched from their towers who was entering or leaving the city via the wooden bridge over the Neretva. In 1566 work on a stone bridge to replace the now shaky wooden bridge over the Neretva was completed. This bridge, the Stari Most or "Old Bridge", was a masterpiece of Baroque Ottoman architecture by the Turkish architect Mimar Hajrudin.

Fancy more history? Then you can drive your rental car towards Klis, a village where you will find the Fort of Klis. Game of Thrones fans will immediately recognize this place. Various scenes from S4, S5 and S6 were shot here, just like in Diocletian's palace in Split. The history of Klis goes back centuries, even before the time of the Romans. One of the most important periods in the history of the fort is around the 15th and 16th centuries. The Ottoman Empire, the Venetian Republic, and the Habsburg Monarchy are all doing their utmost to get and keep the fortress. For years, if not centuries, the fort is conquered and recaptured.

The Trebizat River flows between hills and forests in an uninhabited area. Due to its location, its exceptional beauty and contrast between the sea and the mountains, the Trebizat River is an ideal destination for any fan of adventure sports. Discover the natural beauty of Krka National Park at your own pace. The largest waterfall in the Krka national park is the Skradinski Buk, which has 400 meters at its widest point. A few hiking trails run right along the waterfall and you will not soon forget a walk about it. The natural beauty of the waterfall is unimaginable and leaves a deep impression on most hikers in the nature reserve. The second spectacular waterfall is the Roski Slap, where the water plunges about 20 meters. In addition to the waterfalls and the river Krka itself, you can enjoy 860 different plant species in the park and there are also some endangered species.

Dubrovnik, also called the "Pearl of the Adriatic ', was in its heyday one of the most powerful cities in this part of Europe, with a fleet that could rival those of Venice and Genoa. The city is unique with its enormous fortress walls with bastions, its staircase streets and the old center with countless monuments. The entire historic center is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
